Primary Job Location: Saudi Arabia: Riyadh (Central Province), Jeddah (Western Province), or Khobar (Eastern Province)
Secondary job Locations: Based upon primary office location, will be responsible for any city within that Province)

Pay Scale: Salaried based, no overtime paid but overtime is probable based on demands
Contract Period: 12 months, renewable (Contract will be with Unicorn Communications)

Duties:
1. Detailed design of outside plant (underground – UCV, Conduit systems) within highly urbanised areas
a. Directing the Outside Survey Teams for information capture
b. Reviewing the global positioning system (GPS) coordinates, ground penetrating radar (GPR), video and still photography, and notes captured by survey teams and identifying the best route for placement of underground and drop cables
c. Working with GIS CADD Operators for the development of DETAILED Plan and Profile designs (UCV-UCV), associated typical call-outs, typical, and specials
d. Identify based on the GPR findings any underground obstructions (other utilities, rock, other telco cabling, etc.) and reflect on drawings with call-outs
e. Calculated the work units for the construction of said pathway
f. Develop the BOM for the pathway
g. Identify the location of split ratios and associated cabinets
h. Identify the location for splice points
i. Identify the types of UCVs with detailed construction specifications
j. Identify the duct sizing with detailed construction specifications (must comply with AAHSTO HS20 standards minimum)
k. Development of final Construction Drawings (very detailed)
l. Develop materials and workmanship specifications
2. Detailed design of optical fibre systems for fibre-to-the-x (FTTX)
a. Calculate the fibre optic strand requirements for the backbone, laterals, and after split ratio for drop cables
b. Identify the split ratio
c. Calculate the system budget for compliance with minimum needs
d. Develop BOM
e. Develop and verify fibre testing
f. Develop fibre specifications (fibre, splice enclosures, cabinets, connectors, etc.)
3. Act as SME during the construction phase of the project, assisting the Outside Survey/Build teams in verifying quality and workmanship of associated contractors and materials. |
