Pay Scale: Salaried based, no overtime paid but overtime is probable based on demands
Contract Period: 12 months, renewable (Contract will be with Unicorn Communications)

Duties:
OSP Construction/QC/Survey Specialists to manage all the OSP and CME Field Acceptance activities and to monitor and follow up on all quality and performance of the respective subcontractor build team(s).
Job Description:
• Conduct and supervise the following OSP activities
O Route Survey, Ducting & Fibre Laying
O Testing OTDR/Power meter/Source
O Splicing & termination of OFCs
O In-building/Last mile Customer connectivity
O Coordination for R/W
• Responsible for working with aerial photos & topo maps and determining where:
O Outside plant infrastructure should be underground or aerial
O Optical fibre cables installation and routing process
• Staking those routes for the construction of new outside plant infrastructure and fibre cable runs
• Responsible for verifying clearances on aerial and underground plant and understanding R/W constraints
• Collect information through the conduct of route surveys utilising GPS and GPR systems, collecting and reflecting route pathway and control points
O Collect and redline drawings
O Conduct site survey
O Create and identify the X Y coordinates of the cabinets, DPs, HRISLU, HRIAU, MSAN, Manhole, for new routes and existing OSP infrastructure
O Provide the cooper/fibre equipment model, sizes and utilization
O Estimate the copper/fibre length
O Draw the schematic for route plans (new and existing)
• Compare the field survey result with existing data sources
• Manage the field acceptance tasks and activities as performed by respective build subcontractors
• Ensure all field work is performed according to agreed project procedures
• Ensure site reports are accurate, complete and timely submitted
• Monitor performance of the team and initiate corrective actions as required to ensure timely and accurate execution of the works
• Coordinate with vendors and concerned business sections for field activities
• Review site reports, identify discrepancies, technical issues and other blocking issues and escalate as necessary
• Manage progress and quality of work of the subcontractors against approved specifications and plans and correct any deviations
• Verify the accuracy and quality for all documents and site reports submitted by the contractors
• Attend project implementation and review meetings
• Assist in preparation for relevant OSP acceptance processes and procedures
• In coordination with contractors, vendors and client, prepare acceptance schedule and related documents
• Prepare daily progress report for the project manager
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years experience in OSP design, construction management and site survey
• University Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
• Language Skills – Fluent English (spoken, written, reading), Arabic a plus
• Must have direct experience of managing and dealing with telecom OSP Civil Works and related tasks and activities
• Must have worked within Fibre and Copper Site Survey projects on OSP work. |
