| Job Description: |
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing international multi-platform revenue generation strategies, building
new international alliances for Ouat Media including new award-winning film acquisitions and to advise on extensive festival
and awards strategies specific to short films including exhibition alliances. This candidate will report to the Director of
Acquisitions and Programming, Channel Zero.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop international promotional campaigns for Canadian and international short films including festival, awards
and sales strategies to increase sales and acquisitions
- Mount aggressive acquisitions campaign to sign award-winning short films to the catalogue
- Leverage multi-platform channels including on-line streaming, IPTV, mobile channels globally
- Develop new business partnerships internationally
- Support the overall business strategy including distribution and acquisitions for the catalogue |
| Skills Required: |
Desirable skills and qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of international short film distribution experience
- An existing network of short film producers, filmmakers, festival programmers and international buyers of short
content
- Experience representing short films at major films festivals like: Clermont-Ferrand, Cannes, Sundance, Tampere, etc
and the Oscars, BAFTAs or Cesars, etc.
- Programming experience preferred
- Familiarity with contracts, deliverables and windows in major territories as it pertains to short films
- Ability to fluently communicate in French both written and oral
- Ability to communicate in Spanish, preferred
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Degree or equivalent qualification in business/ marketing/ communications/ film or television
- Willingness to travel to international events, conferences and festivals |
