COBOL Programmer with DMS II database experience
Location: Lansing, MI

The person in this position will assist with supporting the existing
DELEG-WCA Unisys Libra COBOL mainframe system and the processes which
surround the system, including the DMS II database.
Description of the requested work, including deliverables and
knowledge transfer
a. Creation, modification, and testing of COBOL 74 code to run against
the existing DMS II mainframe in support of user system maintenance
requests.
b. Troubleshooting problems with the existing mainframe WORCS systems.
c. Modifying the existing WORCS systems as needed and directed by
systems users to assure compliance with changes in Legislation.
d. Participate with team members using fundamental principles,
theories, techniques, and methodologies of data processing to gather
and analyze facts, define problems, and devise solutions.
e. Establish and maintain effective relationships with system users
and team members.
f. Assist in and conduct client interviews to gather and document
system requirements as needed in support of user system maintenance
requests.
g. Document all developed processes according to standard practices
already in use.
h. Perform knowledge transfer to other team members.
The person in this position must be familiar with the following:
a. Windows XP operating system – one year or more experience
b. COBOL 74 – 10-15 years experience required
c. DMS II database – four or more years experience required
d. MS Outlook – four months or more experience required |
